Interestingly we didn't have those books when I was growing up though I remember the name, but I keep being told my illustrations are reminiscent of old children's books.
Take my comparison as a compliment. I loved the Milly-Molly-Mandy drawings by Joyce Lankester Brisley, especially the map at the beginning to show where everyone lived.
