It's that little red-haired girl again (look here, here and here). This is a rather literal interpretation of the Illustration Friday theme, but as it happens I already had a rough sketch of it that I worked up.
It is literal but I gather 50% of them will be stirring coffee or tea. I know mine was. Great of you to think of a different stiring. Love the work and the shading. am new and just getting into it. What medium did you use?
This little red hair girl reminds me so much of my own. And she likes to stir in many ways (incl. stirring up trouble). All of your illustrations are so beautiful.
Thanks for the great comments everybody! It's primarily done in watercolor with some marker. And I'm thinking I probably should have made the kitchen a bit messier for realism!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I love the colours and the accuracy in the drawing. I would really have liked to see a children's book in that style:)
ReplyDeleteVery charming. It also makes me glad for my kitchenaide mixer!
ReplyDeleteMy boys still love to sit by the mixer when making cookies or treats. They are content just to watch the stirring.
Great colors and composition.
Wonderful imagery
ReplyDeleteThis little girl looks like she is really into cooking......... great illustration!
ReplyDeleteNice! Somehow the kitchen's always a lot messier when I cook with my niece though :)
