Two methods of coloring


This was an experiment comparing Photoshop with watercolor. The watercolor piece (on the right) also has a dip pen outline whereas the Photoshop one started with a sharpie outline before being scanned and colored in Photoshop. The watercolor one certainly looks more lively here but that may have as much to do with the line as the color.

  1. This is an interesting experiment...
    I like the right hand watercolour one at the moment, but the Photoshop one could be worked on some more with adjustment layers, the colour made a little stronger, and maybe have texture added! Both have good things as tools, it is a matter of discovering what works for you to achieve the result you want. I shall be interested to see what others think, or if you proceed with this further.

  2. Thanks for your comments, June. I'm so much more comfortable with watercolor and tentative with Photoshop at this point, but I should push the Photoshop one a bit further.
